BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY
A session with horses

Healing through nature. Guided by horses. Grounded in therapy.

Modern life can feel incredibly busy, hectic, and overwhelming. When you or a loved one are carrying the weight of stress, anxiety, or past trauma, it is easy to feel disconnected and lose your sense of peace. Sometimes, traditional settings aren't enough to help us heal, build confidence, or feel truly understood.

That is why I created Nature, Horses & Holistics.

As a qualified holistic therapist and trained counsellor, I understand the deep emotional support people need. But my truest understanding comes from my own home. After adopting two neurodivergent daughters who carried deep trauma, I witnessed firsthand the life-changing power of horses and the natural world. I watched as the simple act of being in nature and connecting with these gentle animals brought my girls healing, unconditional love, and a profound sense of confidence.

Seeing this transformation inspired me to create a dedicated, special sanctuary. Here, children, teenagers, and adults alike can step away from the noise of everyday life, breathe, and find genuine relaxation.

Our philosophy

Why Horses?

Why Horses for Wellbeing?

Horses possess an extraordinary ability to help us heal, grow, and understand ourselves. Unlike traditional talk therapy, working alongside horses offers a gentle, experiential path to wellbeing that connects the mind and the body.

But why horses? Here is how these incredible animals act as partners in your personal wellness journey:

  1. Natural Mirrors of Our Emotions

Horses are highly sensitive prey animals. To survive, they have evolved an acute ability to read the unspoken energy, body language, and emotional states of those around them. They don’t care about our job titles, our appearance, or what we say we feel—horses respond to our authentic internal state. If you are anxious, they will reflect it; as you grow calm and grounded, they settle too. This instant, honest feedback helps you build deep self-awareness without a single word of judgment.

  2. Living Entirely in the Present

While humans often get trapped in loops of past regrets or future anxieties, horses live entirely in the moment. Being in their presence naturally invites you into the “here and now.” This grounding effect lowers cortisol (stress) levels, slows your heart rate, and provides a profound sense of peace and mindfulness that can be difficult to achieve in a traditional office setting.

  3. Non-Judgmental Acceptance

Horses offer complete, unconditional acceptance. They do not judge your past, your struggles, or your vulnerabilities. For many adults, this creates a profoundly safe emotional space to explore difficult feelings, practice setting healthy boundaries, and rebuild trust at their own pace.

  4. Bridging the Gap Between Mind and Body

Sometimes, talking about our challenges isn't enough. Equine Assisted Services shift the focus from your head to your senses. By grooming, leading, or simply standing with a horse, you engage in somatic (body-based) healing. This hands-on connection helps unlock and process emotional blocks that we often struggle to put into words.
